a minority government is only a recipie for another election in a year or so. I'm hoping for a conservative majority. The conservatives did a pretty good job in ontario, unless you listen to the liberals.
the liberals say that they got "left a defecit" of 4 billion, which is really funny, because the minute they got into power they cancelled 4 billion dollars in revenue generating programs.
The conservatives were spending 17 billion dollars a year MORE on health care and education than the NDP before them.
When you hear Teachers' groups say that the government has "slashed" 60 million or 100 million from education, they are saying it because they wanted 300 million more that year, and they only got 240, or 200 million extra.. the rest was "slashed" out of what they had already spent in their heads.
When the liberals got voted into power, a LOT of businesses either moved out of ontario, or cancelled any expansion plans in the province, and accounting firms started advising companies to either move, or start up somewhere else, because ontario was not closed to big business, because the liberals are well known for increasing taxes on any business.
Now ontario is in worse financial shape than it has been since the NDP were in power. with less revenue to spend on things like education and health care.
Teachers, who postponed contract negotiations with the PCs in ontario got a WORSE deal from the liberals than the PC had already put on the table.

I just hope for a minority government. I think it deters free wheeling of legislation and brings other party's views into the decision making process. The PM of a majority gov't is pretty much a dictator. Too much power with very little accountability.

There's just as much natural resource in provinces like BC and SK, Ontario has the shipping trade and 2/3 of the country's population, no reason they should even have debt.

BTW WWII was fought in europe...it wasn't a US/Canada problem to begin with untill the Japanese hit Pearl Harbour. The US's part in the war was a retalliation because they cut off oil supplies to the japanese, and then Canada went in to help them out. WWII started out as a Jewish,French and British problem.

Boy, are we ever off topic.... lol
Brandon -- I bet most of us have a relative or two that fought in a war somewhere sometime and God bless them we owe them alot.
Brandon, you are currently my number one candidate to read a book without pictures.
WWII was not a "Jewish" problem -- it was a crime against humanity.
By the way, no one really knew what Hitler and the ***** were doing at first. The Allies (Britain and France) only declared war after Germany invaded Poland. I have met survivors of the Holocaust -- my Stepfather's own Father still had the number engraved on his arm when I met him. It is a travesty that this is not taught in school.
If you study history enough you realize that wars are never fought for human rights -- it's all about how the powers that be get to slice up the pie.
As to the election -- I seldom vote on the basis of who the leader of a political party is -- again, if you familiarize yourself with Canadian politics you realize that is the advisors and beareaucrats that run the country.
Thus, I always vote for who I want to be in my riding so I can goto their office and complain. For example, I like Randy White -- not because of his party but because he has a record for fighting against crime.
