u do realize that houses opposite from each other wont have same house number, right? especialy if they are on opposite ends of the street. unless its only 2 houses number 1 and 1A or something on the whole street.
every number in the postal code means something, it ends with the street or a section of a street, pretty much a range of the houses
this is from canadapost.ca
The last three characters of the postal code are called the Local Delivery Unit (LDU). The LDU reveals a specific delivery point, such as a building, a large-volume receiver of mail, or a range of addresses on a street.

Umm actually I did call them and they said they have no clue where it was.
The lady said it WAS their fault and they will have to track it down and retrieve it, or I get full money value of the item. I'm pretty sure that is an admission of guilt if I've ever heard one.
Anyhow...some good news was that it was a chick named Jennifer who received it. She called and left a message with the sender, and he in turn gave me the message. I'm going to call her first thing in the morning to see what's going on.

SQL should'a took that to them directly for the compensation.
However in their eyes if you sign for it wrong address or not its purely in your hands not theirs. Usually you just pray the person is honest and gives it to you in knowing its not their's.
And yes I do believe Canada Post should have better policies when it comes to IDing and such however they don't, they're the most laid back. They all usually hate their job especially in the winter, deliver what they have to and dont care if it goes to the wrong address as long as its outta their hands.
Most cases it would be because of wrong address. And Johnny she gets paid to say that, in any job you HAVE to say that cuz remember 'the customer is always right'.
Yuli it CAN happen as it HAS happened.

^^^I get paid to do the same, but I don't butter it down I Just say sorry lol.. we can fix that. But I agree if Canada post ships it to the wrong place and the address is correct then it's there fault and they need to correct.

Doug they do need to correct it however in any posties mind is 'Not My Problem' lol Think of it this way, you deliver mail every day for 40 years and winter and rainy and cold days make it even worse. Someone screws up on the address or places the wrong parcel in your bag you deliver it and expect someoen else to correct the wrong so long as its out of your hands its now not your problem.
Most 'customers' receiver the wrong package they give it back to the postie the postie takes it back to the station and send it back to the original sender. In most cases not all. Most other times for those 'customers' who keep the parcels and contact someone else about it would generally leave it overall to not bein the postie's fault anymore.
Every night/morning someone in the station sorts the mail going out into boxes per postal employee's route. Postie comes in in the morning puts it in order of delivery without really lookin at the addresses so much for details and does his/her job delivering. Simple as that.
