Windshield Washer Fluid in Coolant tank...yes I'm a hungover fool..help?
#1
Well,
I just poured half a gallon of windshield washer fluid into my coolant resivoir.
Yes, brainfart.
Is this going to kill my engine, or radiator, or anything?
All the links I can find basically say go to get a rad flush ASAP.
Obviously, I'll do this, but my mechanic is closed on the weekend.
Will it be OK?
Anyone else stupid like me?

most rads a thing that you can just empty all the fluid out of it but it isnt bad for it but isnt good if you know what i mean. i wouldnt really dry to much with it like that just b/c windshield fluid isnt going to help keep the engine cool

Your motor won't care - it will run the same. All you have lost is some temperature range. ie. it will freeze at a slightly higher temperature and boil at a slightly lower temperature.
I would still flush and refill with new antifreeze mix but this isn't the end of the world.

I agree with dukk.... and you dont need a flush unless its getting gunky in there anyway...
There should be a stop**** on the bottom of the rad.. drain the old stuff out and put in fresh...
For sometime last winter I had a nice leak in my rad... for about a month before I fixed it Id just dump washer fluid in since Id probably spend as much on triglycerol fluid as gas otherwise.... ($12/4l = 3days use)
I would have just used water, but being winter I didnt want it to freeze and crack my block... that would be bad.. !
