Win XP and Kazaa Lite problems.

So far so good...had buddy do a system restore...went wayyy back to Aug 3. Seems ok now...I suspect that Kazaa is only the problem because it gives him the ability to download 'problems'.
Best damn system left! Not to many people interested in violating 98's vulnerabilities anymore [img]smile.gif[/img]

SW-wise, I'm not sure if they have a seperate driver/utils CD, because that would be best in the case that you do want to install just the driver set and not any other junk programs that automatically install.

And we researched the hell out of the current machines too - the Toshiba was a consideration, but it just felt to cheap (bright blue plastic top case
) and the LCD was terrible.Mark

I like the later Compaq models, they do feel more bashproof than Sony Vaio or Stinkpads. The wide-screen option is a plus too. If I had need for a notebook, I'd look into Compaq's.

I was simply mentioning that straight drivers only can be installed in most newer brand name systems and SHOULD be seperate. I work in tech support with a variant of these PC's after all, so I know what it's all about. I deal with people that need their hand held through a recovery daily.
...anyways, we've gotten off topic enough already. Back to topic: Kill Kazaa, it's not going to be kicking for much longer, and selection/shared usage is dwindling.

yeah the awesome thing with the recovery discs is that they are not compaq specific. so if you dont use the compaq os recovery and you install with say a normal xp pro install disc you can still use the driver recovery and the software recovery with no problems. i've been extremely impressed with my x1010 so far and the wide screen kicks ***. the old think pad i had didnt take quite near the same ammount of beating that the compaq takes on a daily basis. i would highly recommend a compaq laptop to anyone. thanks for backin me up there guys, just hate it when people base opinions from outdated information or just pull them outta thier asses.
