WHY? (METALLICA)

OK,
I got the new Metallica CD today and I've been checking it out.
So far I like it.
It seems like the heaviest stuff the band has done since the "Justice" CD.
MY ONLY COMPLAINT............is WHERE ARE THE Amazing KIRK HAMMETT solos. I have throughly listen to the first 4 tracks and still not 1 single solo. I hope I'm just missing something, but I don't know what the deal is with NO solos.
ANYONE ELSE NOTICED ???

PLUS,
I just wish we could get some descent REMASTERED versions of Ride the Lightning, Master, and Justice.
&,
Something else that just hit me............ is that a Bass guitar I actually hear in a METALLICA Studio CD.
I can't believe it.
Usually you only hear simple accompaning bass lines from Metallica......If your lucky to hear them at all. BUT NOW, you can actually feel the bass guitar through the woofer separate from the Kick drum.
..... Wonder if that had anything to do with the fact that Bob Rock was the engineer and producer of this CD. Guess he wanted to be able to hear his Bass playing.
To bad, we couldn't hear some Kirk soloing.
Maybe he'll do some on the next studio CD ....(probably in about 7 or 8 years from now)

"its not 1986 anymore so why are they trying to play like they did then???"
They aren't trying to play like the did then at all, they are trying to fit in with the "Nu-Metal" genre with drop tuned thrashing power chords over and over again. It's actually quite sad to listen to this album. The guitars play second fiddle to Lars' drumming in the mixing of it and that's just wrong. Yes Lars is an amazing drummer, but his drumming isn't what got them to where they are. Not that it really matters, because it could be anyone playing the guitar sections of the songs on this album. What a total waste of Kirk Hammett's amazing skills. Some of the songs are tolerable until James comes in with his god awful singing to ruin them. Mix that with a set of lyrics that gets repeated 3 times (ala St. Anger) throughout the song and you have one album that equals pure ****e.

Ok, after listen to it for like the last 4 days. I've come to the conclusion that. I like the part on "Dirty Window" where James sings normal (with Larz doing that wood block thingy beat in the background)better than any other part in the whole CD.
I sat down listened to the CD with the lyrics and followed along. There are some deep lyrics in the songs......but it really PISSES ME OFF to hear him (IN EVERY SONG) repeat a line 3 or 4 times.
I love the fact you can hear the Bass.
And this has to be some of LARS' best work. But what is sarcastic is.....in some of the songs. the speed of the guitars doesn't change ....it is just Lars speeding up the beat "double time" and it gives the illusion that James and Kirk are just ripping it up. When they didn't change anything.
If you, have bought this CD and totally hate it..... get the lyric sheets and listen to the meaning of the songs .....It might help.
