Hmm guess maybe us non-ontarion's and quebecer's are just clueless.
I kinda assumed since purolator/ups somewhat stopped working on that day in every province but those two that it wasn't a holiday.
For whatever reason dell would only really service those two provinces on that day :S

Jordy is right if it was an official holiday for EVERYONE the schools would be closed. And at least in this province the schools aren't closed on Rememberance Day, they educate the students and honour a moment of silence at the appropriate time. And yes Gov't workers do treat it as a holiday. Including gov't involved/run businesses eg. Post Office and I believe banks too? (I may be mistaken about the banks)
