A friend of mine who also lives in Oshawa has the same sentiments. He had no problems whatsoever with Rogers then switched to Bell since he was getting an awesome rate through his employer. Sympatico turned out to be nothing but headaches for him, so he has switched back to Rogers.

I, on the other hand, have had Sympatico DSL for almost three years now with no problems whatsoever. I use a router so there is no need to install the "Connection Manager" software regardless of what version of Windows I am running (Me, 2000, XP). I know for a fact that the Connection Manager software is crap.

I was helpin a friend get his bell highspeed up and he had somewhat of the same problem.

he bought one of those pre packaged computers from a small local store and didn't get an actual copy of his Win OS.

turned out to be he needed to get an update for his network card, and that was a real pain for this no-name card but finally found it surf the web on dail-up sucks even more, specaily if you need to download service packs or updates

Also if you have McFee virus scan, that will screw it up to, I have Rogers at work, by the time the high-schools get out around 330pm my highspeed becomes no-speed because of the share with your neihboors crap, Bell Highspeed you don't share. bell might be a little slower but it never slows to a stop

i've used sympatico high speed since it been around here which has been close to 5 years now and no complaints
except for tech support
i had in case where i had entered my email address misspelled so people sending a reply back would get a bounce back due to me misspelling sympatico
i phone tech support like 7 times and they never figured it out
a friend stumbled upon it
and i rehitched up my non usb moteum and could't get it to work
they could't figure it out
i stumbled upon a sticker on the bottom that has a picture of a swapper on the bottom
while looking through the line filters i found a box labeled swapper put it in and it worked
