When buying a used car do you pay any tax?

only 2 things guaranteed in life:
1.) you WILL get taxed.
2.) you will one day die.
Livin Loud.
P.S. i'm really not a black hearted person, i am a positive person, and love life, but here's some truth for ya! to think about

I just went through with this whole deal and here is what happens:
- You will pay tax on either:
a) The price you paid for the vehicle or
b) the wholesale price of the vehicle (blue book)
Whichever is higher is the number the gov. uses. I cannot remember if you pay PST or GST but suffice it to say, it is just another raping administered by our lefty overlords while they remain straight-faced the entire time.

You will get charaged A tax regardless if private or not, when you goto change ownership over you will be chargerd tax on the value of the car or if the amount seems abit low they look at the *blue book* or whatever they call and charge from there, to get around paying no tax it would have to be handed down from family as gift then you pay nothing. I went through this when I bought cars from my uncles.
