Or if ya wanna get with the times, although i have no idea on pricing, might be smart to head the way of the PCIexpress standards </font>
Yeah I will go PCI express... then the technology gets better because it's right now only a little better than agp. And I got my mother board not that long ago so I'm not moving up in the computer world any farther for a while but now I have to save up for a new car

After talking with Dukk it seems doubtful that he wants to spend any money on an outboard card, which makes me wonder why people are trying to act like such professionals and recommend 600 dollar graphics cards.
Let's get this straight. Correct terminology is PCI Express x16, or PCI E. NOT PCI X.
As far as the release of Doom4 is concerned, it may be another eight years.

heh - all I wanted to know was if a 128mb video card has a couple of useful years in it or if it is on the verge of obselecense.
It's ok, I found a unit in the same dollar range that has a 'real' video card and it's the PCI Express stuff too.
lol - I'm so not a computer tech

People who run at the highest resolution don't need too and shouldn't. It's like playing cs at anything higher then 800x600. It's a waste

I have 17" LCD and I need to run a 1280*1024 otherwise its blurred as hell.
800x600... WTF? Maybe that was the standard resolution 5-6 years ago.

It is a waste to play a game at 1600x1400 or even 1280x1024 but since your the pro around here you have to be right!
Any CS player who is pro in cal or cpl plays at 800x600 but they are all wrong also and you are right!
Morons!
