^ Chrysler is ditching the Pacifica - better get it while you can
And I did not say Chillzone itself was a determining factor - I listed it as an example of the myriad little conveniece features they are building in these days that, as an overall package, are a nice touch. The storage space, 3rd row seat, and external styling are making me a fan of the Journey.

This is one thing I have learned from experience, Mitsu's tend to loose there gas mileage "silver lining" once break in, I went from 450km/tank(45l) to struggling to get 400km/tank (and I drive more on highways now)(and this is not driving hard) and with price of gas these days This makes a HUGE difference. A very good friend of mine has the mitsu outlander and he loves everything BUT the gas economy!! and he says the same thing, once break in, you loose alot of the mileage! Just from personal experience, and yes I know that most vehicles loose a bit, but I almost cried when the last time I filled up! Just my 0.02 Also the outlander is not very acoustical :P

first off you're looking to get a fuel efficient SUV...for those who drive an SUV do you see something wrong with the above sentence. THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A FUEL EFFICIENT SUV UNLESS YOU BUY A CRV!!!!!

There's plenty of SUV's that are quite good on fuel. Be practical, we're talking about 4000lb vehicles here so compare the SUV to a any other full sized auto and don't try to compare a SUV to a Civic.
Killer Klown - gas mileage will almost always IMPROVE once an engine breaks in.

I dunno, the Patriot should be decent on gas, as should the Rav4, CRV, and other 4cyl offerings. decent being low/mid 20s or better. Hell my Neon only gets 30-31 on average.
GM claims that the Tahoe Hybrid gets better mileage than the Camry Hybrid but I think it's cuz the 'hoe will be hanging off a tow truck half the time

I get about 13.5mpg when driving like an old lady with a bit of highway driving and probably about 11ish if i have to do any 4wd in winter conditions.
So....I'd consider good to be 22-25mpg and up. A lot of the hynbrids coming out claim solid gas milage, but they all seem to cost an arm and a leg.

EPA shows driving around in a V6 RAV4 is going to be pretty much the same as driving around the Camry (which most consider to be a fuel efficient or as you say "good on gas").
As Dukk listed, there's plenty of other vehicles. Add in the two offerings from Hyundai into that list.
I just hit 9000km on my CX-7 and the gas mileage is getting much better. On my last trip to Quebec (a 8hr round trip that I do often) I was rewarded with gas mileage on par with what I usually got in my Sunfire (and the CX-7 is a whole lot more fun do do the trip in that's for sure).
