Atleast its good for us.

The wife has been working 2 jobs to make ends meet since my UI and medical payments have ended.

I got a call from the fed`s and they said that my doctor made a request on my behalf for disability.

I just found out that they are granting me a benefit that will be paid retro to about 8 months ago.

The best part is I have been offered a retraining course to take. Details come later on that. Atleast I will be able to get back to work and out of the damn house now.

The grant will take 6-8 weeks to put through. We need to replace the roof on the house, pay of the credit recovery guys who have been pretty good about it and take the Toyota`s engine in to get rebuilt.

We figured it out and the grant still wont be quite enough, so it comes down to selling off either my Mmats system or the race car. Preferably the car.

guess thats my good news for the year.

Good news man, must be a relief.

Pardon me for being nosey (tell me to stick it if you think I am) .. but is the disability because of the toe?

Alot of it has to do with the Diabetes complications and as a result of the foot.

I have been diabetic over 30 years and alot of the complications are catching up with me now.

I have had kidney problems for quite a few years and have been on a waiting list for about 5 years for a replacement. Been having minor heart problems whta is causing that I have no idea.

Add in hi cholesterol and blood pressure, not to mention the carbon monoxide poisoning from years back and it is all taking thier toll on me.

I took whatever chance was needed to get the job done to earn a paycheque to support my family.

If I can give a word of advice to anyone with similiar problems, it would be to slow down, dont take chances. Stuff may not happen right away but it will culminate over the years and affect you later.

Man if I was to list the amount of broken bones, sprained wrists and stuff, going to work when I should have been home taking care of p[roblems maybe this wouldnt have happened? Who knows.

I grew up with the attitude that " ahhh , stuff doesnt affect me or will never happen to me". Invincible teenager syndrome.


My job now is to keep my diabetic son out of the same boat.


As far as Timmy`s goes, I`m not telling them anything and I dont go there when he is working. I have to have some way of getting rid of the 10 odd roll up coffee`s I have won. You think I can actually win a damn donut to go with my free coffee`s? NOT A FRIGGIN CHANCE!!

I don't think they care to much about the little prizes, but if you win the truck or money etc goodluck lol

I know working at BK when they had that win the saturn with the spiderman decals on it (kinda like mickey d's monopoly) employees and family were not allowed to win. And a friend of mine used to work for Timmy's awhile back and it was the same situation.
