Remember the Pilot who killed the canadians?
#1
The U.S. Air Force has dropped involuntary manslaughter and assault charges against the fighter pilot who dropped the bomb that killed four Canadians and wounded eight others in Afghanistan more than 14 months ago.
The decision announced yesterday means Illinois National Guard Maj. Harry Schmidt, 37, faces a maximum six months in jail for wilful dereliction of duty, not the 64 years behind bars he could have faced had he been found guilty on all the original charges

While it is a very sad thing that happened. Obviously he did not do it on purpose. He shouldn't have to go to jail for 64 years for being an idiot and using bad judgement. He will have to live with the fact that he took 4 human lives for the rest of his life. And believe me I am sure that will torture him far more than any jail time! I know it would me.

Yeah, I am sure when he was playing a round of golf and called his lawyer to appeal he was torn up inside. He was hopped up on speed and had a very gung ho kill em and let god sort them out attitude. He deserves what he got. BTW others were also charged and found not guilty.

what did u guys expect? The only reason he got some time (6 month) is b/c the soldiers were Canadian, the americans are trying to look not as ignorant as they really are by actually putting him on trial. If it was American soldiers that he killed nothing at all would have happend to him. When the Afganistan troop deploying begun and battlest started to appear there were many cases where americans killed or injured their own troops in the battle field or by accident otherwise. How do i know? My good friend served 6 months in Afganistan as a sniper and the stories he told us were unbelievable. Do we ever hear about those american soldiers who cause death or injury to other american soldiers due to their own negligiance???? Do they undergo any trial??? NO,NEVER! americans dont have to prove to themselves that they are not ignorant, they already know that they are.

He is not getting any time in jail... he is being fined a one month's pay -- he has appealed that as well. Sure as heck if a Canadian pilot had killed US soldiers, there would be hell to pay. I think the families of the Canadian Soldiers would appreciate it if this pilot and the others at least said sorry and pretended to have some remorse

LOL! Come on if a Canadian did the same thing to a group of US soldiers, there is no reason to think that they'g get life in prison just because the soldiers were American. You all need to let go of your hate for the US. We are not all bad, just because you hate Bush and or the government! I watch cases on Court TV everyday where people that have killed someone get off with a slap on the wrist and it has nothing to do with thinking the victims are expendable. It just happens sometimes. I can't wait to see what kind of retalitory comments come back at me for my post. LOL!
