yeah i read that on another forum, Hero- if he was at 7k rpms in 5th, then he should be shifting to 6th anyway, not 4th. he was basically asking for trouble, and he got a lot of it... I feel bad for the car, I laugh at him...

Yeah, mistakes happen but that's uncalled for.
When I first got my car, I wasn't fully used to the gear box and I was exiting from the 403. I pulled it out of 5th and WANTED to go to 4th. Not knowing the gear box, I accidentally pulled it to second (@ 120 K/h). I just began to pull out the clutch and began to hear the engine wind up. By instinct, I hammered the clutch back in immediately. The clutch never had a chance to engage.
And as was said 7K in 5th (what's that about 190-220k/h?) and then to downshift to fourth?
Try 6th!

Whats really dumb is doing it to a new car AND accidently going back 3 gears instead of 1 AND letting out the clutch fast enough you don't realize what the hell you've done before your engine explodes.
He got what he deserved. All the more reason i feel when a person first gets their licence their first car should be a cheap POS standard til they know how to drive.

Wholy man ...... [img]graemlins/jawdrop.gif[/img] lol. To a new car!? Accidents happen but wholy wha... Now I know NEVER to do that one in my car lmao. Love it when my dad goes to turn a corner in 3rd when he goes to bring it from 5th to 3rd and puts it back into third and wonders what the noise is lmao. Love when he insisted that he was in 3rd when the shifter was angled up. hmmmz... I'd seriously cry if I were that guy in the RSX tho lol
