I hate to put this so bluntly, but no. There is not a salary cap in baseball.

There is NO salary cap in baseball.
There is a luxury tax, 2 totally different things.
NBA and the NFL have salary caps.
There will be no hockey this year, as apparently the NHL is going to be rejecting the NHLPA's offer and will be submitting their own offer. Of course their offer will have some sort of cap bull**** in it, so more than likely we will have no NHL season.

i really couldn't care anymore this year about a season. 1/2 over anyway.. what's the point. no hype anymore this year! meh..
we'll see what next year brings. let them get settled and hopefully a 2005-2006 season will be a good one.
