Network/Tech Support - weirdest internet surfing problem ever.

i have firefox going and IE going. As well as msn messnger.

from time to time my IE will stop finding pages, it will either give me a time out error or can not display page error. It will go like this for about 30 mins to an hour. Basically as if the internet signal is gone.

But firefox and msn messneger all work perfectly fine durring this time.

After about 30 mins of doing this IE begins to work again. It does this once to twice a day in the afternoon only.

any idea as to why it does this?

Does firefox use it's own dns server? its possible that your isp's dns gods down or overloads from high traffic. if firefox is not using the isp's dns there is your answer.

msn connects to the msn network. i don't believe it rely's on the dns for it's routing.
