My Rant.....
Alright Ive got to get some off my chest after an incident that happened to my little brother in Grande Cache Alberta this weekend. My borther was out at his usual watering hole drinking with some buddues as most 21yr olds do and some guys from Edmonton were there drinking because they work on the rigs out around there.
3 punk *** 18yr olds had a chip off their shoulder and were looking for a fight all night long, they had apperently been kicked out of 2 other bars in town before heading to the one my borther was at. So they were looking for a scrap and my bother and his buddies have been known to mix it up before so the fight was on.
Now this is the part that pisses me the **** off, one of the 3 Edmonton guys was fighting with my brothers friend when all of the sudden this gutless douche pulls out a knife and starts to stab him, my brother sees this and jumps in and tries to pull the guy off his buddy the **** turns around and slashes my brother, the knife hits my brother in the teeth, knocks out a tooth, cuts right up his gums and slices through his lip and right up on of his nostrils and into his nose bone more of less butterflying his face like a goddamn pork chop. NOW if this isnt enough one of the other pieces of crap smashes a beer bottle over my brothers nose breaking it in 3 places and slicing his left eyeball open.
When all this is done there is about 30 people wathcing this happen and the guy with the knife is swiping at people that are trying to interfrear and yelling "YEAH E-TOWN BOYS, NO ONE ****S WITH E-TOWN BOYS" then they get into their van and drive off out of town, a few car loads of people chased they out of town and the police were called, my brothers room mate and 2 friends caught up to these 3 guys in Hinton at the Husky gas station and were peel off of them in the store by the RCMP when they arrived.
The guy with the knife and the beer bottle guy were arrested and when they were asked why they did this they said the wanted people in Grande Cache to know they arent afraid of anything.
Now WHY THE HELL DOES CRAP LIKE THIS HAPPEN! What is wrong with the way young people are growing up in todays society? Why do they feel that violence is a way to prove their worth, I can understand getting into a fight most of us have but what does over the top violence where it leaves people dead or near death prove? Why are youths becomming more and more violent in todays world? Why doesnt the justice system punish these people to the fullest or rehabilitate those they can, why are they just slapped on the wrist and left go.
I have a brother that could loose sight in one eye, has 50 stitches in his face, a broken nose, 2 black eyes and a missing tooth and thoe **** heads arent going to get more than a slap on the wrist, Not to mention my brothers friend who in U of A hospital in critical condition with 11 stab wounds because some 18 year olds wanted to prove they aren't afraid of anyone... how many more people will be hurt of killed before the proper steps have been taken.
Please dont think that Im wiriting this only becuase this has happened to my brother, I have had 2 friends murdered in the last 8 years Clayton McGloan, Samer Jaber and Ive also has a friend that is now severly brain damaged after being beaten by 10 people with golf clubs and bats at a house party and all 10 were aquitted because it was said my friend instigated the fight by walking into the house and saying "hello ladies" to them..... I just dont get what is happening to to youths in the last 10 years.

thats messed up dude....i dunno whats wrong with people that they can't have a clean solid fight....just one on one with no weapons....
least i can say i don't live in Edmonton anymore. Sherwood park now....not a good day for edmontonians by any means.

That is one crazy story. I am really sorry about your brother and wish him the best in his recovery. I think as Alberta grows as a province, unfortunatley incidents like these will continue to increase in number. I also think that people today are just afraid to take a good ol *** kicking. Thats why they need to be in groups, never fighting one on one, and carring knives and . What happened to your brother was just completly fuked though... There is absolutley no excuse, or reason for that matter!
I was reading an article about some kids in florida last week, and one guy overheard a phone message of some other guy saying some bad about his girlfriend. So they invited him and his brother to a party, tortured them all night (cut them, beat them, and shot them) then in the morning they put them in their car and set it on fire. BECAUSE OF A PHONE MESSAGE! is just fuked up now-a-days...

I don't know where this is going... we can partially blame the parents for some of the things their kids are doing...

I agree with MR2NR, along with stricter penalties for lesser crimes. And that applies to younger people too.
We are too soft here. How much do you get for selling coke? How much do you get for crippling/disfiguring a person these days?
I live by the rule that we are somewhat of an animal inside, that needs to be kept in fear of doing bad things.
If people know they will get in deep by doing bad , they won't. Except for the very few ones that have no ability to apply logical thinking.
I agree, being myself on the younger side, that the further we go, the more violent the next gen is.

i dunno if i would say they will get a slap on the wrist. fo rusr eyoru borthers buddie is goign to lay charges cause 22 stabs wonds has be attempted murder. if not assult with a dealy weapon ( were talking multiple years here )
and if there 18 they are considerd adults and wont have any strings pulled for them .
I have to agree to we are to soft on criminals.
but its not like this is just canada. this is happenign everywhere . people are loosing the need to help others. and are jsut careing about themselves too much
