4x4ing is about 75% driver and 25% truck. I've gotten further in 2wd with street tires in a 96 Blazer than guys with 4x4 and mudders.
Damn shame that in 35 years the import companies haven't learned how to build a full size truck tho... </font>
Are you sure it's haven't learned.
Maybe they don't want to compete with the big 3 in the full size truck department.
If I wanted a full size pickup, I'd get a domestic.

X </font>
I think Nissan's Titan is the closest thing as an attempt into the full sized market..
But I'd never buy one.. I thought it was pretty cool the other day seeing a chevy half ton passing me up a hill.. I was doing 135ish and he was still passing me... but he was pulling a good sized 5th wheel.

I think the Ridgeline is just a smaller version of the Avalanche.. have you ever noticed the simulaity? they're almost identical.. just the ridgeline is smaller.
Great trucks though.. I've only heard rave reviews of the ridgeline.

X </font>
They've made enough lame attempts and called them competitors; Ridgeline, T100, etc; Titan is not bad. Why would they not want to compete in such a huge profit laden market? The Ridgeline is nice for what it is, a overhyped minivan with a cargo box and 4wd.
Imports have their place. I drive a CRX atm because it's cheap to operate. Old Toyota pickups, yeah, they can be great off road. So are old Broncos, so are old Land Rovers, etc. It's not like it's magic to create a good 4wd. However, they have no damn power in their trucks. Japanese auto makers just don't get it, displacement is not a bad thing. They've never made anything to rival North America and Europe in certain segments because they simply won't make big displacement torquey engines.
