Fat there isint much rocky stuff here. actually i dont think we have any rocky mountains. I dont know where the 4x4 clubs go around here besides the Jeep Jamboree trail, which i dont believe has anything rocky either.

Ya I heard about this "JEEP Jamboree" thing...I was interested until I heard somewhat negative feedback about it...in a nutshell, from what I heard its kinda boring - oh well...

My 2001 one had the "california beach" package on it. Everytime u start the car the sunroof would open on its own. no one could ever fix that, untill one of the mechanics made a joke about it and called it the RARE california option. u start the car and sunroof opens so u can get the nice, warm cali sun shining into your ride while u ride along the beach. The cali package was also supplied with heating that NEVER worked.....simply in cali there is no point for the heat.
Yeah, my Jeep would stall sometimes when going around corners. The week before the lease was up, it died on me when I was driving down the highway (I had time to pull off at an exit). I called Roadside assistance and they promised to show up within 30min. After 45min I was really pissed and called them back. They informed me that they didn't have any flatbed towtrucks available on Sundays. I took a cab home (50 kms) and bitched out Chrysler. They picked up the Jeep the following day (I had to be present, go figure). It turns out the main computer died. I will never buy another American car (well, maybe the new 'Vette....)

when i went to the dealer for service and brought up the topic of the TSB on grand cherokees they jumped up screaming WHAT'S THAT? i just thought it was too funny, they knew how many problems the car has that they even pretended not to know that there was a TSB for it.

I went in to my local dealer for the TSB concerning Jeep's craptastic brakes. The service advisor swore up and down that he had NEVER EVER replaced rotors and pads on warranty in his life. I then showed him the TSB from Chrysler outlining the exact problem and he still didn't want to do anything.

Yikes! Ya well I knew what I was getting into when I bought this car - I too, had ready all of the consumer reports/etc and read all that negative stuff. Check this out my 2000 Jeep has 150K but the previous owner (which I know personally) did all preventative maintainence on it - new rotors, spark plugs, transmission and 4x4 service (all fluids/flushes), tires, spark plugs, rust proof every year, synthetic oil changes every 5000K all that kinda stuff, and the Jeep looks clean inside/out. Its a big V8 hog too, but those engines will go 500K if you look after them properly. Oh ya and of course I did a CARFAX before I got it too and no accidents either. I have all the records. So far the only thing that has gone wrong was a faulty rear wiper motor, but I was able to get the dealership to fix it without having to replace it- at the same time I spent the extra $$$ and had the dealership do a full electrical systems check and everything came back fine. Mind you I know that anything could happen, so last week I went out and bought my CAA PLUS membership, just in case! I love my Jeep!

other things that normally go wrong with the jeep are heat breaks, power seats break, starter goes, breaks worp eveyr 20k or so, memory mirrors are really random and not memory, in all of my jeeps the over head console broke.

Here u go Mr. BoomingJeep, enjoy http://www.wjjeeps.com/tsb.htm

Cool

Sound like fun - I can't wait! Thanks Mr. Yuli!

BTW, I getting a CompuSTAR alarm (newest 2-way model w/ remote starter) installed today. A neighbour with a 2001 WJ sent me over to a local shop here in Scarborough (he had his alarm done there too and so far so good). I'm getting it done as I type this...$650.00 installed taxes in. A little more $$$ than I wanted to spend but it will give me peace.
