You know... something also has to be said for how cool the muscle cars were in MCO. I think Ford, GM and Chrysler owe EA and American Muscle Car (the tv show) a huge check for reviving interest in Muscle Cars. I mean is it not a strange co-incidence that American Muscle Car does features on the old 300c and a new one comes out looking "retro" (they are also bringing back the "Charger" nameplate!!) or ford makes a "retro" styled T-Bird and Mustang or GM brings back the "GTO" name plate?

I have to admit that I never realized that the 73 Formula Firebird was such a wicked car until I tried it on MCO!

Dukk, Sux2bu and anyone else in the lower mainland -- we need to "visit" EA on masse... they can't stop us all!

Anyone ever play Grand prix legends? By far the most realistic and difficult driving game out there. If you haven't got a steering wheel, or some other form of analoge controller, it's damn near impossible. It's amazing what a good wheel and pedal set do for realism

Megahurtz - MCO was the most realistic driving game I have ever seen. The way the cars handled were lightyears over anything out there now. It was all online play and EA discontinued it last summer.
It handles harder so maybe that makes it more realistic? Spins out a lot if you turn to much with to much gas.

Another bonus of MCO vs. NFSU is that the graphics were much nicer. I find the car graphics on NFSU to be quite blocky and chunky. On MCO, the cars were smooth and had gloss to the paint! And, you got interior driving views as well (which ended up being my preferred view), and NFSU cheaped out by not having that. Every other NFS game does though

For PC it gave you the option to accelerate the graphics (which also made the game slower if your pc couldn't handle it) so when its accelerated you had a lot more blurry objects the faster your going, and everything blurred when you used NOS as well as you got the whole blue flame effect fromthe exhaust. Also girls were at the start line and a few other things. And also gave the paint a shine and glare and glares on the road and such

Yeah, I always wondered why they didn't have the 300 b or c for instance. To be honest, Chargers and Cudas never seem to have great handling in any game (Challenger was great in GT2 -- used it as starter car!).

I liked the Duster alot in MCO -- the weekly Duster class E racing series was awesome fun
-- I found the key was lots of spoiler and TONS of torque!

Funny thing, I didn't like steering wheels for MCO -- I used the keyboard on my laptop! I did pretty well, even won a top dog and placed in the top 10 once in a while too.

I have never found a force feed back wheel which felt realistic -- they were all too sensitive for my liking -- same thing with the pedals.

Real cars, especially muscle cars, had two-three turns on the wheel lock to lock and pedals that travelled more that 3".

I used my Irish Duster to run Tri-oval Wasn't as fast as the Mach 1s or later on, the Cobras but I could be competitive and I wasn't another me-too car on the track. One car I loved to run TriO was my 67 Camaro with a 599 HP 350. I had it optimized to the point where if I used the top-end intake or 1150 carb, I lost power. I kept it as light as I could and could beat 900+ HP cars quite a bit. The wheel/pedal set Dukk and I use are the Mad Catz set, which even has a shifter I really like it and no force feedback.

My favorite cars for Tri-Oval were the Camaro and Vette -- actually Vettes were great for everything. Of the regular 50's cars - the Belair could not be beat -- loved it for all tracks -- my vert, flamed Belair was my favorite car.

I could be happy with just 5 cars on that game --

Class A - Vert Vette
Class C - Vert Belair
Class D - Trans Am
Class E - Chopped Duster (or F100)
Class B - Chopped, Bumperless,Runningboardless,Fenderless 32

I can't believe that GT4 hasn't been mentioned... it should address all issues mention so far. Online play, muscle cars, even more refined graffics...but only on the PS2 I think...
