Jeep Patriot Opinions

After golf and beers today I went car shopping and found the Jeep Patriot which peaked my interest. Dealership was closed but the vehicle was unlocked (as well as one or two of most models) and the vehicle was a great fit for everything I require. Price is definitely do-able and I will get a good price as I have a hook-up.
Looks like nice big speakers in the doors also

I'm looking for a new small SUV, good on gas, doesn't have to be 4x4, that has enough room to throw all my work gear into or a couple golf bags (plus obviously a small sub which will likely be one of my OZ Matrix Elites)
The Caliber/Compass was too small and I didn't like the Liberty as the hatch area was really small. Chev has nothing that I'm interested in. Ford '08 Escape was a thought but the lease rate is 10% so it's a no.

So if anyone's got an opinion either plus or minus please go ahead and share. It's a new 2008 model.

Did I read that correctly, dealership closed but doors unlocked to the vehicles...someone's butt would get canned if that were my business. I can just see it happening, the copper wire thieves hit the new unlocked vehicles or they now have full access to whatever new parts they need. Wow man, was there at least a security guard or two around? Then I could see why they would be unlocked.

That life time warrent is a BS. A guy at work just bought a new Jeep TJ 4door. looked really nice, I asked about the lifetime and he said nope, 3yr 50 or 60k deal. I was like wtf happened to lifetime, he said on popular car/truck dodge doesnt do it, which I thought was wierd. So who knows about that

The lifetime drivetrain warranty is only in the US at the moment. Because they are technically two separate entities. They will probably have the warranty in Canada within the next 2 or 3 years.

Although there are some specific conditions that have to be followed in order to keep the warranty.

Sound like the salesman (or your friend) was confused. The employee pricing is only valid on certain models, and excludes most Jeep vehicles and the Caliber as well as other popular vehicles.

OK, no reviews on the Patriot?

Anyone got anything to say about the '07 Mitsubishi Outlander?

No direct experience with the Outlander, but for a small SUV I would much rather go with Subaru or Mitsu as opposed to a lower end Jeep.
