It's been a REAL sh*tty day today.
#14
sounds like a bad day, but really...
You still had a job at the end of the day.
You don't have a terminal, incurable disease.
You didn't lose any body parts to rabid animals.
You're not married, so your wife didn't leave you for another woman.
Your dad actually bailed you out.
Your ride may be toast, but you have another on the way.
There was a for better or for worse comic a number of years ago that I remember well. The dad was having a bad day at work, car broke down, had to walk home in the rain, etc, etc. so he hopped in a cab. When he got in the cab he commented on how terrible a day he was having, and the cabbie responded "It is a beautiful day to me" at that, the father asked him how it could be a beautiful day when it was pouring rain and the roads were terrible. The man replied "I come from ethiopia, I have seen my family and friends killed for thinking a different way from those in power, I have seen my children starve to death. Now I am in canada, I have enough to eat, and no one persecutes me for my beliefs; I have the opportunity to make a living and to be judged on my own merits. Compared to how life was then, every day is a beautiful day"
Changes your persepective doesn't it?
