OK, its been quite a few years since I've gone, like 20. I'm looking for a mid week or weekend package for 2 or 3 of us (me & 1 or 2 of my boys).
Primarily interested in a motel, breakfast, box lunch, dinner, take you out in the Snow Cat in the a.m. and pick you up at night type deal.
Not really interested in the new "ice condo" idea. Someone has to cook, clean up, etc, etc (raises hand) and who needs that .
iirc there are Pickerel, Pike, Lake Trout in the Winter. Bass & Muskie are more or less useless in the Winter, too lethargic. Not interested in going to the "Perch grounds".
So, anyone have any good recommendations? I really prefer North Bay area because I'm not a fan of Simcoe even though I live 15 minutes away.
thanks
John

ice fishing is will get you sick ,go with russians ,they get smashed for 10+ hours straight and try to get a fish
fishing in the west is better .we get smasted and do not get sick because it is not snowing

I have been ice fishing for over 30 years...I love some of the walk in lakes
above Beaverdale BC....some of those brook trout are up to 14 pounds and
fight like a **** (upper Collier lake kicks azz) because no one goes in there
except for the die hard fisherman who live in the middle of no where
you need a good pair of snow shoes or a snomobile to get in though..it's about
a 1/2 mile walk
never got sick once..always come home with fish and a case full of empty bottles
