I did 3 months straight without a day off a few years back.
The first day off after that we headed to my buddies cabin and had a party.
From that day on, I take time off when I need/want it.
Life is too short to wast it working ALL the time.
Don't listen to your boss when he says "oh, it's only for a few weeks" because I garantee you after that few weeks there will be another "few weeks" LOL
When you need it take a break but don't be a retard and show up 3 days/week like the employees at my work.

**** thats alot of cash...
lets see... 8 hours a day. 40hrs per week. at around 12 perhour... and around 11 days per pay check
so 11 times 8 times 12= 1056... meh thats good for a summer job. times that by 4 and i would have made 4000 in 2 months

No one just starting out is making that kind of money.
Leasehand makes $20/hr
Roughneck makes $23/hr
Motorman makes about $26/hr
Derrikhand makes about 32ish/hr
Drillers make $36/hr.
Remember though that the shifts are 12 hours and the last 4 hours are time and a half. Also you get $125/day tax free living allowance. If you are in camp you get $40/day with I think $15 of that tax free.

Definitely some good money though. It's sick, and sad, to think guys haul that in yet still are in debt. It took me 9 years at my current job to be at the same rate as a Motorman but the nice thing is though you don't top out like say in a union. We have quite a few guys here making $35+/hr and this is a consulting firm.
