its fairly difficult to lose as much weight as you have in that amount of time without losing some muscle.

Go Chunk! Remember that losing weight has alot to do with muscle. Muscle allows us to burn fat faster so what you said is probably right. The harder work you have been doing is building muscle which is also burning more fat.
