How do you get the sway bar off a 1992 Cavalier?
I've been trying for 2 days now and can't figure how the **** it comes out.
The links are off, the U-bolts are undone, the bushings are off and the *********er won't come out.
Am I missing something? Its hitting the body and it's hitting some brake lines on the driver's side but I've been able to bend it a little.
My Haynes says it just comes out, but the car says the back of the sub-frame needs to drop.....is there some little trick that I've failed to see?
Has anyone tried to do this before?

if its a factory piece the body could have slowly bent and kinda forced itself togeather at the strut towers. i saw sawzal in the previous post and if its a factory piece that might be your best option.
i would like to know why you want to take it off?

I drive a cavalier, my sway bar broke.....yes broke....at the link on the passenger side, so I bought a parts car for 200 bucks and that's one of the things I was going to take, but I'd rather leave the subframe alone if possible especially on the car I drive every day. the sway bar scrubs on brakelines and I don't wnt to disturb them, I think we all know what happens to hard lines when you move them on a car with 235K on it.
