Hotmail accounts going to 250MB??

I just received and email from msn hotmail.. check it out..

What I don't understand is why all these companies are increasing the mailbox limit to such an enormous size?
I mean yeah it's great to be able to send mp3's, short video's etc... But... If I want to send something large to someone (Usually a file over 3MB) I do it over a chat client. Do I really need 250MB to store 2-10kb email messages?

They figure they can block 95% of all spam! Hotmail really will rock that much more if we get larger email accts! Even most ISP's only offer 10mb accts and i've found hotmail to have the best spam filtering system!
I realize most of this may not pertain to the topic at hand, but it's somewhat related and seemed like the right place to post it all
