It is an Integrated Tube amp bookshelf speakers and decent CD player. Although I have heard mixed reviews about the xcd-99 and CD-R playback.
The prices range from (USD):
$799 - Amp (bstock), Ref 0.5 Speakers, CD PLayer
$1199 - Amp and Ref 1 Speakers
$1549 - Amo, Ref 1 speakers, Cd player.
As for your Cyclone if you wnat to integrate it into your hifif system you need to determine what its usable uper freq range is and then purchase speakers that will mess well with it.
There is lost of choices and if you ahve a chance go to your locacl hifi shop and just start demoing with YOUR music.
Budget? ... around 1g... maybe 1500 depending on what I can find. I mean, if I need to spend more to get what I want/need then I'd be willing. But I'd like to keep the cost as low as possible.
Room size? ... It will be in a spare bedroom in my townhouse, so the room isn't very big at all. Maybe 10'x12' (?)
Music Taste? ... a bit of everything. Some days I'll listen to punk music, other days it's hip hop. I think I'd mostly like to have a well rounded system with a bit of extra 'oomph' in the low end.

^ why Id only recommend going bookshelf if space is an issue...
Having to use a seperate sub or midbass speakers to fill void between the cyclone and whatever midrange is used will make the system more complicated....
Get something you know will play flat down to 40 or 50hz at reference levels...

look into the new Panasonic digital amps...
they are pretty cheap and I've heard of ppl comparing them to $2500 amps..
One cool thing about them is if you get the 7 channel amp and are just running it in stereo the amp uses one amp for the highs.. and 2 for the lows so out of the 7 available amps its using 6 of them.. you dont need to do any fancy wiring either.. if it detects a stereo source it automatically does it.. then it is 100 watts RMS per side from 20hz - 20,000 hz..
