hid kits on ebay are crap. The create more glare for uncoming drivers than they do light where you want it directed on the road. The actual lighting really isnt much better than stock bulbs with stock housings.
Also take into account if you use stock housings with the HID kit bulbs it can melt your housing. Using a diamond cut housing should eliminate a bit of glare but its still a majorly half assed way of doing it.
The PROPER way is an oem HID projector retro fit in your housings. Im currently doing one for my explorer actually. Its a lot more work than just plugging in the kit, but it directs the light where you want it, lasts longer and retains a high/low beam feature.
However if you dont mind getting a couple tickets, dont care about any lighting improvements and are just out to get noticed. Go with the HID kits off ebay.

Agreed... do a retro or don't do it at all... I've seen cops impound the car on the spot because of ebay, or HID kits without projectors being installed. it's a major hazzard as the light gets very distracting to oncomming drivers.
go to HID Retrofit Parts Projectors Ballasts D2S Bulbs and there you will find all the info, and comparissons you will need tosee why you shouldn't install HID's into regular housings..
