HDMI cables $12 or $250?

Hdmi's simplicity makes it worth the extra few bucks(unless your like Jordy and get them dirt cheap)... and I love the fact that my xbox now runs in full 1080 all the time :d(except certain games ) lol...
Now comes the question who will be the first to integrate this concept into Car Audio?? and then will car audio manufacturers come out with there own line of HDMI cables?(I can see this being a $$$$$$ pit) lol

There's a difference with RCAs, it carry an analog signal VS HDMI it's digital.
It's way harder to disrupt a digital signal because it's a square wave that only represent 0 (0-2v) and 1 (3-5v) VS analog it carry the full spectrum and noise can affect the quality of the signal. That's why even the cheapest HDMI cable (as long it respect the standard) will give you the same results than the one at 100+$
On the other hand, for sound quality analog with good interconnect will beat an average digital DAC but that's another debate...

dude what a bogus video...they test it with drunk bastards on a couch watching slow lcd technology....lol....and that tech tests hd.....720p.....hahahha...let him test 1080p....or 1480p...which is coming out....let him test signals from a computer...that the bit rate is way higher than a HD box....good luck....
the dude connects the cable to the meter adn it shells out all good....but what about shielding and the amount of shileding on a more expensive cable....let him do that test with a 120v 60hz power cord right next to it....hahah...see what they 12 dollar cable shows then...
shielding ....bit rate...and twist rate isnt even discussed....3 reasons why you should pay more for your cables....
hd.....hahhah 720p...might as well have etsted shaw cable at 280p...or satellite at 480p

It's digital, and even a 120v powercord will not affect the signal as long that the cable is HDMI 1.3x compliant. Ill admit that maybe some cables are not properly design, but the fact that you paid lot's of $$$ doesn't guarantee anything...

Just to throw my two cents in here, and im sure someone has already said it (to lazy to read the whole thread). HDMI cables are digital, in other words they deal in 1's and 0's. With my computer technical back ground, theres no way to produce a better 1 or a better 0. I recently bought a 32" samsung tv, 1080i and my PS3 is hooked up to it. It looks just as good as my buddies 42" philips 1080p with a monster cable running from his PS3 to the TV.
Another huge myth, is the RGB cables. RGB cables have the ability to repoduce up to 1080i. As long as the tv is capable of excepting that type of resolution through that type of connection, it should look almost as crisp as HDMI. Most of it is all marketing, but then again when isn't anything about marketing.
So in short, there isn't any difference at all.

I bought HDMI cables for 3.96 and some optical and 12 ga. speaker wire and some banana plugs. I made it just under 100 bucks so no customs. Shipping USPS was cheap.
Made in Taiwan, Malaysia and China. No wonder we're all losing our jobs.
I gotta agree on the HDMI being a bad mechanical design. But then so was the RCA. Nothing to hold it in but friction.
