I'm not sure how many of the people on CCA go to the states on a regular basis, but the US is somewhat biased on their news coverage, if it isn't in the US or show how the US is involved, it is rarely covered on US news. Canada has always had a broader range coverage and that isn't just in the news, it's in our education and lots more. In the US you learn about the US.

I love the US, but that is how I see it, and I know there are Americans on the site and on this post, but until you live in Canada and see the difference it might be hard to see the difference.

No, its now owned by Phillip Morris. US Government subsidizes and allows tobacco giants to run rampant while our loving passionate friends at P&M provide what the gov. wants us to see via the largest television network in the US. SOunds like a fair deal.... Can you say propaganda, free enterprise style? unbelieveable.... The a PHD in the health industry stated the intention for Phillip & morris owning General mills (owner of Cherrios, oreos and LOTS of other adolestant targeted foods, is so they can addict the youths to those foods, using many of the same principles they learned from the Tobacco industry. Try eating just one oreo, its HARD. Money really does choose which values and morals people will live by, the almighty dollar.

Speaking of Broadcasting corporations, I love what the CBC does in bringing us Canadians very comprehensive and unbiased news day in and day out. Ethical and responsible jounalism. They report the news and not make it, like some of the other news stations like Global and CTV. Then again, the CBC is publicly funded.

Back to the tsunami story...... it must be tough for religious leaders to try and comfort people in situations such as this. Trying to tell people that their god is looking after them.

CBC does a helluva better job than other stations. In the end it's all about money, but they find a good balance. Reporting on the people who control their budget? Have YOU any clue????
