have you ever noticed this?

I was simply saying that we hand over money to everyone yet every country hates the US! Just because people don't agree with our government why does that give people a reason to talk crap and hate everything else about our country? It makes me laugh. Especially coming from Canada. Because we are not that much different. It's funny. If Canada went to war, America would be right behind them. But, the US goes to war and you all hate us!
And I am not whinning about giving money. Butm our country is always the first to give it. And every other country has their hands out and is willing to take it. Yet we are a bunch of ****** that don't care. And Yuli I think it's great that we are giving money to help them over there. I was simply stating that it's funny that we give all this money, and in a month the country will hate us for something that they don't agree with us on.
I pay taxes just like everyone else in the US. Just like all of you in Canada. And that is where our tax dollars go. Even when there is no disaster. A country calls us and wants money, so instead of using our tax dollars on things that need doing here, it goes to someone else who then talks sh*t about us a month later. It's retarded!
Like I said before I hate the war and I think Bush is an idiot. But, we always help or give. Sure you can throw your numbers out right now all you want about how the US spent 100 times more on the war than on this. But, we give all year long for everything! We give to every country for things we shoudln't even be bothering.
Like I said a country asks for aid and we give it. Does Canada throw all their money at another country everytime they ask? A poor country needs school supplies, oh let's call the US. A country is having problems with another country, let's call the US. A country needs food because there is some sort of a problem, let's call the US. That is all you hear about all year long over here. "And today the US donated blah blah blah..." And I am not whinning or trying to build us up. That is what you hear everyday! You don't hear and today Canada donated yadda yadda yadda...

You're Government went to war without the approval of the United Nations...the rest of the world said you shouldn't, but ya did anyways
our country is always the first to give it
You're fooling yourself if you think that it's for any other reason than propaganda.
A country is having problems with another country, let's call the US.
Am I the only one that's noticed a pattern here? It seems to me that the US generally only assists one country who is having problems with another country if it can somehow benefit them.
That is what you hear everyday! You don't hear and today Canada donated yadda yadda yadda...
That is simple...our media is not completely controlled by our government...so they can report on some stuff that's NOT propaganda.

I'd like to urge all those that have taken the time to read this thread to do something to help with the tragedy.
Most all Canadian banks are recieving donations to forward to the Red Cross. Please take the time to visit ANY branch near you and make a difference.
If you have a credit card, (and I suspect most everyone does) you can help here:
https://www.redcross.org/donate/donation-form.asp
Our energy and time needs to be focused on helping people right now.

If something like this were to devastate Iraq (other than the war and such going down now) would the US be racing to provide millions-billions of dollars to help those victims
Island very good point in all that you wrote.

^^^ BTW I didn't write most of that stuff, it was just people's reactions to the aid the US is ponying up.
For the US to match per capita what Canada's official (through government & agencies)contribution stands at right now their administration would have to pledge over $700 Mil, and they are at $35 Mil officially.
And Eastside, I've got news for you...Do you honestly think (or belive the drivel they feed you) that US is the only country in the world providing foreign aid when other needy countries come and ask for it?? The redneck resentment in the States about foreign aid is pathetic, you guys have more than enough money to solve all you domestic problems and still be a lot more generous without paying any more taxes.... It simply is a question of where the money already coming in is being spent (wasted!) It's no bloody wonder, there are many domestic issues Americans feel need to be reselved first, before foreign aid is given out....BUT take a look at the root of the problem not one of the effects of it. It's the people who decide priorities where the REAL problem lies, and priority is "the New American Century" and all that concept entails, including invading/controlling whosoever may stand in the way of it's realization.
Eastside, here's your reality check:

Considering US has the largest, wealthiest economy in the modern world I find it revolting that Americans are complaining about their contribution. * Rant over!*

Hey no worries there's no fight just the truth... and our friend Joe deserves not to be lied to by the powers that be in his country, once he sees the truth he will be in a position to make a positive difference by educating others, which is the beginning of how we can all effect good changes .
