Graphixs design software

Graphixs design software
I'm looking for a good free graphics design program that is very flexible with tonnes of design options/abilities.
Something similar to photoshop or visio only free.
Thanks.

Really, I didn't know that... lol I thought it was all by license. Photoshop is not really what I'm looking for though...
I need something where I can create my own designs, and or manipulate other things like words shape and stuff... I know there has to be some good software that graphics places use to design stuff... I just have no idea what they are, lol.

I hate paint... find it SOOO frustrating. lol I'm pretty good @ photoshop, but could never click on a letter and have 30 dots align around it and pull that letter in any direction I wanted... stuff like that... I know there is a program, I just can't recall what it is.
Maybe I really am and just haven't found the right features. I'm going to download the free version of photoshop. My cousin said corel draw might be what I'm looking for, so I'm going to download it too, lol.

Well it appears that corel draw has the features I was looking for. The feature to augment letters and such is called "mesh fill". Its a very cool feature for designing graphics but looks like I will only have it for a month as its not cheap to buy. So, I better get busy, lol.
So, does anyone know of a free program that has this feature?
