Getting Fired
#31
I'd start bugging people at 2:30 AM just seeing if they would come in to work early that day, do that enough times and they'll just quit outright... jokes.... No seriously,.... start sending people annoynamus hatemail now, then in three weeks, go on the PA system, and annouce for everybody that recieved any hatemail that there fired for reading un-related material during worktime, and thus lowering productivity

^^^^^LMAO, that is too funny. I've heard of everything from Singing Gorillas: barging into board (bored) meetings, and singing made up songs of how bad the company sucks. To calling the bosses wife, and asking her out every other night for various things......
Too funny, there should be a book made up of "creative ways to quit" or something
Lifes a blast isn't it?

But all fun aside. I got laid of a few years ago. A big surprise to me but they had an councler present just in case and offered help getting other employment. Hey we all need to eat right. Sounds like this work force knew what they sighned up for and when the job is done well every body moves on. Dot your 'i's" and cross your "t's"

Hmmm I feel for you, The place that I work at lets that many people go in a month and thats rootinely done EVERY month.... I don't think there is really any easy or goood way to tell someone they are fired let alone as many as you have to let go, but honesty although may not help at the moment it is usually the best policy if the reason is performance issues beit that the employee just isn't meeting the company requirements or beit the employee just isn't what "The company" was looking for. Getting all of them into 1 big room together although it would be nice to let them all go at once so it would take less time and then telling them they are Layed off wouldn't sufice seing as they are being fired but meh you get the jist.
Anyways Good luck hope all turns out farely well.

The nature of any such industry is seasonal, promise to keep their names and call them back when there is work, and then do it. (At least for the ones who are worth calling back) The company I work for had to lay off about 2 dozen ppl, and then within 3 weeks, had another big project and hired quite a few of them back.
As someone who has been laid off a number of times, because I've worked in construction for the last few years, and every job comes to an end. Every major job ended with a "last supper" company bought lunch (anything from pizza to chicken cordon bleu, baked potatoes and veggies)about a week before the end, it helped us know what was coming, and get ready for it.
Unfortunately for managers, often the most prudent thing is to tell them the bad news, have someone watch them pack their desk, and escort them from the building, and then pay them their severence. People in that kind of position can cause irepairable damage to your company if they choose to. This has been done to my dad twice.
