Rejects he F'in offer! Even if the players wanted a high cap it's still a cap!!+the 24% roll back that's more then fair...Whata loser.. That guys needs to be fired and get someone with a real interest of hocky in there.. Canadian Guy/Girl in there to run **** before the americans **** up our game which maybe 2 late as it is.

Before you start going off the handle, you have to realise that it's not like Bettman sits up there and decides these things on his own.
He represents the rest of the owners who have made the offer of a 40mil cap. They can't just suddenly agree to a 52mil cap.
That's an extra 12mil a season or just about 30% more.
It's a nice offer but to jump up 30% in your cap room is still a bit steep.
I noticed how you're not at all pissed at the players though.
Why are they NOW willing to accept a cap? How come it was completely unacceptable back in September but now it's just fine?

Bettman is the boss essentially like Goodenow is for the players... They basically says yes or no.. I agree the players ask for alot of money but if the stupid *** owners didn't agree to pay so much there wouldn't be a problem... As for the player no one signs them then they will have no choice but to drop there $$$ they damned to an acceptable level. Even as the Sens owner said "Let them vote, and I bet you they will all accept a cap" So it's Bettman Vs Goodenow So it seems like there getting more say then the players/ownwers. Also 24% roll back on ther current contracts how would that not save the league at this moment big $$$$?? The owners need to realize there screw up and take a cut since they essentially got themselves into this in the first place...They will do anything to bring cup to the team but when they loose they cry cause they have nothing...

Right off the top,I'll tell ya I'm not a big hockey fan...
BUT..
In my books everyone of the players in the NHL who won't play for a cap of about $100,000/yr should all be let go...
$52 Million and they truned it down...Thats just F'in stupid!!
I say let em all go and go get some players who will play the game because they love it...not for the money!!
NHL games are a joke to me anyway.Last Flames game I went to there was more cheering for the fights than for the goals.
And for those who keep saying "when's hockey coming back?"...There's WHL,Junior hockey,etc...and its a hell of alot better than that crap that they call "PRO" hockey...
Just my 2 peso's..

Whaaaa... you actually believe that Bettman and Goodenow have the final say in what contracts get approved??
Sure, they can manipulate a few things but in the end it's the players and owners that have the final say.
If Bettman were to go in an accept a 52mil cap without the support of the owners he'd be fired on the spot and the contract would be nullified.

OK my bad Manipulate I was corrected and it seems they don't want to flex much at all, least the players are saying lets do the cap but they need to come to some sort of medium wether it be 45 million or something... Like they said the odds are if all players voted which few players said they would play regardless they would take the salary cap the ones who don't want it are the "gretzky" style players... who want the big bucks and nothing more..

Umm, Gretxky played for the love of the game, not the money, that's why he was so good, it's pretty much true in most sports, look at Jordan. The simple fact is the players want more of the pie, well if they do they should become owners. I worked many years making other people rich, that's how the world works. Some say the owners are at fault for paying so much in the beginning, well whoop de doo, that does not lock them into paying that now, if they decide to pay less they can, who cares about NHL now anyways, I doubt I will ever watch a game again.

I don't think the players demand big money - I bet you its the agent.... the juniors are better anyway.
In the NHL they already have a guaranteed big pay check while in the Juniors they are playing for their future. the juniors have more hustle, play harder, and they are every bit as skilled as the NHL guys. the NHL should just give up and give the cup to the WHL - I'd watch that.
