My old man talked of a lil trick you can pull.... first, you should already have a totally stealth detection install... second, if you ever get searched you have a decoy detector, missing most parts inside.... take the thing to court and have em take it apart...
If it isnt a radar detecter inside... they have no evidence !
If the police ask to search you say OK.. but they cant ask you to search someone elses property (wifes purst, mail, ect)
If they have good probable cause they can more/less search what they want...

I suppose. But whats the point of a radar detector that doesn't function dude. And if you plan on takin it apart before he gets to the car, the part will still be in the car indicating that it functions. They can search the vehicle right then and there.

I have one old one. The best way is to use your eyes. In urban area's just drive like your suppossed to. I think out in the middle of nowhere, where I grew up, when there is no traffic and a sunny afternoon that it isn't that dangerous, on a good highway, to drive twice or more the speed limit. But it won't safe you any time in cities.

Well, the response to my query re: fuzz busters has been very good. Based on what I have read, I think I'm gonna give the "thumbs down" on getting a radar detector - its not worth the trouble, plus - I don't live in Alberta!
Thanks for all your posts!

Smart call on the decision though
Slow down ppl and arrive alive. No need to take away someone's job and something that more than likely goes into the taxes you pay one way or another.
