Hmm, I used to like them back in the day, but I haven't bought an album since the black one with the dark grey snake thing. I guess they are still good, but I just don't like much of what they do now. St. Anger was cool, would have been better as an instrumental.
Oh and I think the Stones should have stopped playing sometime around 1977 if not earlier.

You young whippersnappers you... I haven't heard of a "great" new band since the '90s -- most of the bands now either rip off the 70s or 90s. If I hear another singer with the "constipated" tone (Nickleback, Staind, Metallica, etc, etc, etc) it will be far too soon. Most bands now try to be Pearl Jam, Nirvana, etc -- BORING.
Darn outside voice again...

I to miss the days where songs actually lasted a while...long enough to "feel" it.
And I really miss the guitar solos..
I just started to listen to the metallicas and GnR's.. I was more into rap, R&B,dance pop... whatever mainstream is... man was that stuff ever empty. I can still appreciate some of those songs now..although the recording quality makes it very hard to keep on comming back to listen to them...
But Im defenetly more into older bands that have wicked guitars and kick *** drums from the 90's and older.

1)adrian smith(maiden) - listen to the solo on "where eagles dare", track 1 off piece of mind and you'll see what i mean
2)kim mitchell, personal favorite, always great melody
3)i cant belive nobody mentioned alex liefson from rush
4)dime bag daryl, cemetary gates, friggin deadly solo
5)all the expected ones, satriani, hendrix, srv, knophler
btw maiden is still the best metal band ever to walk this earth, dream concert, maiden headlining, with judas preist and helloween opening, the whole concert taking place in my basement, i could die the next day and die a satisfied man
