Question

I'm sure it's not tough, but workin on about 4 hours sleep over 3 days.....8 if i go to bed 22minutes ago. or something like that.

Anywho....with my vehicle....battery level normally sits like 1/5th over the half mark. Stereo pumping it'll be there. As soon as i turn on my rear defrost, it drops to like 1/5th under half, engine rpm's drop and it's obviously a huge strain on things.

Whats the culpret of that? Do they just make my jeep with not enough juice to properly power it? It is a 94? Someone help me out here.

My 92 Yj does the same thing, the rear defrost on Jeeps seems to draw a lot of current. In my case, I think my battery is on its way out, due to it being stuck in 20 to 30 below for a weekend at New Years. I upgraded the factory ground from the battery to the frame with 4awg, it is a good start. Not sure what else could help your situation....

rear defrost is the biggest voltage eating thing there is in the vehicle besides a stereo i believe. i dont think you can really do anything other than not use the defrost. or upgrade the battery etc.

alright fair enough people. Thanks for the responses. I'll just continue to only use rear defrost when i'm driving and rpm's are up....seems to be easier on the vehicle.
