Double shipment

Just for the record it is completely illegal for the company to simply send you goods and charge you for them. It use to be a very successfull marketing tool used by companies that is now against the law. Maltesechicken's example is a perfect one. I know finance companies used to do somthing like this where they would send you a letter with a "guarenteed" approval for a loan lets say for 5k. They would encolse a legit check for 5k. In the loan doccuments it said "if we do not hear back by phone or in writing in xx number of days, the check is yours and will begin bearing interest.
That type of marketing is illegal in Canada now. With this particular issue being a double shippment, I am not sure if it falls into the same guidlines legally. If it doesn't, what stops a company from just double shipping random orders and screwing people with the price of the goods if they didn't send them back?
One thing I want everyone to respect when replying to this topic is to not slander anyone elses opinion. Having an opinion is everyone's right. Whats not right is when you slander that persons opinion. Keep this thread clean and we will have a nice discussion. Start into the personal attacks and slander, and it will get closed and the instigating member will recieve a temporary ban. I encourage good conversation on here, but lets remember to keep it civil.

I'm in Mtl. right now, and the stuff hasn't actually shown up yet. He has three boxes of goods sitting in the UPS warehouse right now...that's two to many to be a power supply. </font>[/QUOTE]Alright, the reason I asked is because a lot of my dads suppliers for his business tend to ship the wrong things a lot and make a lot of mistakes, and their asian except for one, one is Canadian and still seems to screw somethin up once in awhile lol. Perhaps this may be as they don't speak complete english? Who knows but that was my reason behind asking what ethnicity the company was.

Well...that was a waste of time. The package showed up today and in the end it was just his power supply. Got everyone riled up for nothing. He's a little bummed, though. He was getting pretty pumped about it...musta been that bad karma or something...
