Adam - look for a brightness setting or even a cheat code for brightness the original alien vs predator u needed to do this.

It requires a 64MB card. You're probably sitting fine. Of course you won't be able to play it at it's full potential. But barely anyone I have talked to has been able to. Unless you have a 512MB video card that cost ya 500+ dollars, you're not gonna be playing it at max.

mreastside, go to Far Cry and then u will realize how much doom 3 sucks. Even Soldier of Fortune 2 makes Doom 3 look stupid. SOF2 is the best single/multi player shooter i have ever seen, as close to the real world as you can get.

I have to agree, Far Cry was fun and the graphics are amazing,, one of the best ones out there in my opinion..
Doom3 is starting to wear off, Guess it was all the hype of having it a few days before release date,
One thing Doom3 has over most games out there is Sound.. On the clipsch Ultra 5.1 system and its amazing just how detailed the game is,, how you can hear the machinery in the distance - how the sound is near dead on for surround.
But ya the game play is wearing off now..

^^^ Well, that is kinda exatly what I was thinking. Yeah if it's realism you're looking for then of course look elsewhere. I've got Call of Duty and I am absolutely in love with it. It's just the Doom games bring a nice change of pace from the ordinary.
And how anyone could say look at the graphics of Far Cry and say that they look better or are superior to Doom 3 is crazy. Not to take anything away from Far Cry. Yes, it is amazing. But look at Doom 3. The graphics are insanse!

For people who have not played this game but are telling people that they are wrong... please reserve your opinions.
The game sucks... damage modelling is non existent... you just shoot the guy and a blood is mapped to that location.
SOF2
H you were able to blow a chunk of a person's skull off. Not to mention you actually had realistic guns, with good sound effects.
Farcry was realistic... even in the nightime levels you were supplied with cryovision so you could see what the hell you were doing.
The weapons had a really nice feel to them...
In Farcry you could get through about 1/2 the game just by being good with the Desert Eagle and getting headshots.
Now in Doom 3 you got a ****ty pistol that has a really slow rate of fire and does nothing for damage. It takes like 4 headshots to kill a zombie. The only weapon that really offers some satisfaction in killing somebody is the shotgun. And when you do get one, the body just disintegrates. In SOF or FC the body flies back and reacts with the environment, and in SOF's case you are even rewarded with an arm being blown off.
