dirty lic. plate got a ticket
#22
Usually it would seem that tickets are pretty cut and dry. This though, I would have to think the law takes into account extenuating circumstances, since we are human beings and are fallable and we live in a constantly changing environment. The plate is still readable. A person cannot REASONBLY be expected to check their license plate and any other portion of their vehicle required to be clean every few minutes or few km's. I think a judge will be sympathetic to your situation. For sure by all means, fight it.
If a person is driving thru a heavy snow storm and snow has built-up on the back window, of which there is no wiper, would it be right for a police officer to ticket that person for their window being obstructed due to the snow? And you can be tickted for that, I knew a guy in high school who didn't clear the snow off his rear window before leaving for home in the afternoon and got a ticket for it.
