I have the Minolta Z1 (3MP), now known as the Z2 (same cam at 4MB). A very nice piece - quick startup, good manual modes as well as automatic, 10x optical. If 3MP is good for you, see if you can pick one of these up on clearance (maybe Tiger Direct).

I have the Kodak DX6490, got some nice awards for 2004, 4mp, 10X optical zoome, 3 or 4 time digital zoom I think you can buy it now brand new for about 600$ with dock... they now have wide angle lenses for it, and couple other types of lenses... pics come out amazing!...has a nice 2 inch lcd...

Like others here, I have a Konica Minolta Dimage Z2....Z3 is out (or on it's way), so the Z1 and Z2 can be had for really cheap now! For the price it's great, but my next one will be the Minolta DSLR as soon as it's out!

Thats with Kodak DX6490... stay away from HP well there R707 is nice, but the rest of the products are ***....
