Ok for some ODD reason everytime I open IE Explorer it tells me that such and such a file is corrupt (IE still works, but it pops up saying this file associated with this program is corrupt please run chkdsk utility)

"The file or directory "C:\(file/path here)" is corrupt and unreadable Please run the Chkdsk utility"
Now I've run chkdsk about 50 times now everytime I open IE for the past like 2 months.

Is there any other way I can generally see the root of this problem and any other way I can fix this because obviously the 'chkdsk' option's not working.

Anyone else have this problem?

And please refrain from responses like IE SUCKS USE MOZILLA USE NETSCAPE. Because I have Mozilla and I use both but a lot of the time I prefer IE since awhile ago my Mozilla mysteriously crashed and decided when it did that that it wanted to forget all my settings and bookmarks

Could you post the error in its entirety?

i second that response on posting the error

if thats not an option, simply reinstalling IE or even a repair will likely fix it.

see those options here

yeah, the whole error would be really helpful.

Wouldn't surprise me if it were just an "addon" program that you deleted or uninstalled and ended up leaving you with this message.

sounds like a really good trojan to me...or some really good popup program that installed itself onto your computer and has now changed your bootup files.

if i were you i would just backup and then reformat. it's a pain but a sure way.
