you know at the risk of p!ssing someone off here
i am a little confused about somthing....
normally i frequent this site in the summer only
however i have decided to contribute to cca a little more this year, now what i dont understand is that the donut shop clearly states on the front of the board that this forum is for off related (i am assuming car audio) topics.
now i will be the first one to admit that i have posted questionable topics in this forum before.
however i dont understand why fat whacker closed the thread arron posted (too much time on hands)
was there somthing derogatory or was it somthing that you personally found useless?
im not trying to cause a hollocaust here but i find that alot of people are saying the same thing about threads that have been closed.
however having said that, i do agree with closing post's that have become a cat fight or may have conflicting interest's in accordance with the rules respectfully.

I raised the same point on this thread:
http://www.canadiancaraudio.com/ubb/...239;p=2#000031
its a delicate subject, I can understand the dilema from each point of view. but it does say, off topic....2 people having a conversation on thier own would be stupid, that I can understand.

as stated on another thread that the info posted
should be usefull now i do agree that msn would be a proper place to chat
however saying that a topic is unusefull would that not be a biased opinion???
imo not everything in this world interest's me however i could'nt speak for somone else in that matter.
and if is useless than no one would have responded to the post it would've been left dead.

We have members that will always respond to any post. That's not really the point.
First off - I have friends here - if I want to share something with one of them and strike up a conversation then I hit them up on MSN. Not on? No problem, I email them. If I have something that I think the general population of CCA may find interesting then I will post it in the appropriate section here for feedback.
When a post starts about a banana and after he first six posts the next two pages are posts between two people discussing socks then the post is off topic, not what the topic starter intended and the post may be closed. These subjects are fictional to protect the guilty
Second - I guess I am on the other side of the fence but the Mods here were chosen for:
a) their experience and expertise
b) their judgement / demeanor
c) both of the above.
Now they may not always make what I think is the right decision but then I probably don't either. So I ask that we please tolerate and support our mods and remember that they are humans too.

i understand completely when people post about nothing.
the only thing that kinda caught me was arron's post where as i cant speak for him.
but i think all he was trying to do was share somthing with the rest of us.
some people ruin it for others with the useless stuff.
i remeber when we had cca chat dosent seem like a bad idea now.

Dukk, I agree with you on all of that and I do feel that lately some topics were just useless and what not. But, some of the topics that have been closed really didn't need to be closed. Now don't get me wrong, we don't want this board to turn into a big mess where people just post anything and get off topic all of the time. But... it is a message board. The point is for people to talk, share opinions, news, views, and chat. That is the point of a message board, to interact. And it was straight out retarded to close some of the threads that have been closed!

I closed Aaron's thread because it was precisley the kind of crap that doesn't need to be on the board. The guy is bored. He searches his name on the internet and posts what he has found. Please forgive me for being ignorant, but why the hell should that be taking up space on a message board? I did a search today to see how much I could sell my mountain bike fork for, but did I post what I found on the site? No. Because it has no RELAVANCE TO PEOPLE ON CCA!
The Donut Shop was created to keep some of the off topic issues out of the car audio related forums. It was not created for people to come on and post random crap just to pass the time. I mean come on here people, its not that hard of a concept to understand. Now, if Aaron had been searching the internet and found somthing that was interesting that would relate to people on CCA, by all means post it for all to see.
I am sorry Aaron that you have been used as an example in this. But this kind of thing has gotten way to far out of hand and needs to be reeled back in.
