computer powersupply to HU
#1
I am going to screw around with the idea of powering a head unit with a computer power supply. its not a light weight supply. its a heavy 350 watt. so im sure it'll create the 12V needed. not 11.5 or whatnot, question is. how to i turn the powersupply on ? i remember reading the you have to bridge two wires, question is, wich two ?
anyhelp you can give would be cool. dont post b/s tho, I am just dickin around with the idea.

cool, thanks. I have to touch two wires on the front of my case becuase the button fell off and i thought i had to do something like that with the supplies wires. cool deal though. i didnt know the power ran through the wires constantly.

I did that a while ago, A tip if you don't have a great power supply it's going to end up to sound like crap.

found my meter. the thing kicks up to the highest voltage so far, wich is seven volts. but then yea, it dies after a second. guess shes toast. good thing only cost me five bucks. I was going to replace the good one, in my junk computer with it. and use the good power supply to power a HU and two 40 watt speakers, make a custom mdf/bondo/fiberglass Bewm box.

been there, done that, mounted a CPU PS in my glove box in my cavi, so I could listen to the radio while I worked in the garage or in the trunk installing. worked great.
