^ thanks for the info, appreciate it! Did you not like dealing with MDG, as far as customer service was concerned?

you could upgrade, get a stick of 256 or 512 for less than $50 and and then you shouldnt have a problem running xp.

on a side note if all you really use your computer for is surfing the web, playing music and buring cd's and stuff.you can get a new computer loaded with xp already for less than $400 just check around at some local shops

Well like 7 years ago it was a mess the first time we had to call them with a problem. After that we knew what to do so it was easier to deal with. When we first called, we could never just find out where we had to go to drop off the computer to get fixed and well it was a mess and never again. Now they could be good but I dunno.

Future Shop sometimes has computers for $400 that are better than the computer I paid $1800 for 2 years ago, hell my $650 laptop it a better computer. As for putting XP on your current system it could run a little slower, it sounds like you have a computer close to what my dad does when I put XP on his computer he got me to take it out a week later, said it slowed it down and it look up 1gig of his whopping 4gig HD.

if you do install xp, just change the setup of it, to look like 98 again, that way you won't have the shadow behind your mouse etc all the gui stuff that you really don't need. you'll have all the functions of xp, but your smaller computer will run nicer, and ya..256 minimum , 512 recommended

Thanks guys, B2B I found this one: http://www.futureshop.ca/catalog/pro...gon=&langid=EN

but to be honest, I have never been happy with the service at FS, to be honest. I was pricing out systems at London Drugs, and MDG today, London Drugs had a decent deal on one.....

LOL I own an MDG and love it they built it compleatly to my specs and financed it yeah on and on I did have 1 problem my powersupply set of one nasty smell but still worked I took it to there store they said hold on i went for a coffee and a butt came back saw my computer was in its box and said when you guys gunna take a look at it they start looking at eachother and said the powersupplys was replaced its fixed we tried booting it but your screen res shows to be 1080I widescreen and has a logon passwordso I pull the plastic bag flat and see it has been replaced

I love this machine I ordered it in November 6 of 05 received it the following week exactly to my specs actually it was better then I ordered they ran out of PCI-e X300 128 meg radeon video cards and sent me the X800 256 free of charge aswell as a high gloss black translicent case with upgraded DVD burner and a free upgraded 19inch Ben-Q I am extramly happy with it
they also goofed up on the ram it was supposed to be 512 upgraded to 1 gig they did a 1 gig upgraded to 2 gig LOL

hehehe I also found out that the processor which should of been a prescott 32bit is in actuality a 64bit Prescott thats 4.2 ghz
I have beat the snot out of it burned about 9 200 disk reams of dvd's I edit videos render animation and never failed me

and whats up jeepbeats this is Rob the one who purchased your gold plated Distro block
my normal account is messed the password was corrupted or changed aswell as when I try to recover it I never receive the instruction email to change it

I saw tests where XP would boot on a machine using like 8MB of RAM. Obviously it doesn't run well, but that was about as low as they could go and still get it to boot. So you'll live with 128. But, it's time to step into the 1800's and get at least 256!
