I am really hard on my cell phones. I thought it might be good to hear the best of the best cell phone stories. Tell us what happened, model of phone and the resulting damage.

Audiovox phone: Dropped out of my pocket and fell one story down an apartment building stair case, the only damage was a cracked screen. (The phone was a POS)

LG5550: This thing is indestructable, I was out at oktoberfesting talking with this girl, I pull out my cell phone to but her number in it. Start to enter her number into the phone, it slips out of my drunken hand right into my cup of beer in my other hand. Only damage is the nine key now has to be pressed on the top half, I am sure I could clean it out and it would work fine.
The same phone also went for a swim in the toilet. If you get into the shower and your phone is on vibrate becarefull where you leave it, mine viberated off the bathroom counter straight into the ****ter. No damage

I have an old Nokia 5100 series phone. The thing is a tank. It is about 3.5 yrs old now. I've dropped it in snow, in water puddles. I once droped it off the top of a 10' ladder onto concrete (the battery didn't even come off). I've dropped it onto pavement countless times. Other than a few scratches, it works as good as the day I got it. I still get about 30hrs of talk time out of the battery too.

I don't want to replace the phone, because I'm pretty sure, I won't find another one that can take my abuse.

I've got too many stories of slight water damage, drops, tumbles, etc. to list with my Motorola Timeport P8767 since I've been using it for over five years now.
The most recent one though would be while I was on vacation in Waikiki in Septemeber, I took it to the beach in a bag with all our snacks, sunscreen, etc. It started to rain & since the bag wasn't sealed it created a pool of water in the bag which the phone was sitting in. When I picked up the phone, a stream of water came out of the speaker. It wasn't working so I removed the battery & left it on the patio of my hotel room for the day while we played a round of golf.
When I returned, I put the battery back in & it worked! The only weird thing was that to turn it on, the flip has to open so you can see the screen but once you close it, then open it again, the screen would be blank. This happened for about a day & then all but the top line of the display came back. Now even the top line has returned & I'm still using it today!
The only repairs I've ever had done was to replace the antenna twice, for about $15 each time. Not bad for five years!

I've gone through a t720, I tossed it at the wall, the top half came off, funny thing was that you could make calls but not hear them.... I had a nokia 3220, If anyone's been to Kamloops and had the chance to see 1st..... it's like a good 30-40 degree angle, I went riding down it took a jump and saw my cell phone oh so gently fly outta my pocket land on the ground and continue to slide 3 blocks...... nothing... I just about shat myslef I was laughing so hard.... it took some intense abuse...

Cell phone abuse? Here you go. how to sell a motorola brick phone 101 by Rob. See this phone sir, "yup", watch this sir. Rob throws the phone from the car audio dept. across the floor 30 feet through the air to have it crash down onto the vinyl tiled concrete floor and smack against the cashiers counter. I go pick it up and ask the customer to make a call on it. "I'll take a motorola brick phone please". This phone hung in for a full 2 years before we cracked the casing around the antenna. No worries, new case and it was good to go again.

I had customers lose them in mud, snow, drive over them with loaders, you name it. Indestructable. Worst of any phones I ever sold, the nokia 101 series, absolute shat. Look at it and it would break on you.

I had a nokia 5260 and it fell in the toilet and still worked yet the second time if fell in the toilet it did not.
Since then I now have a nokia 6230 which is excellent and I also have an excellent holster that never allows the phone to come out unless I want it to..
lol

Seimens C56. Dropped it so many times. It has spent 30 minutes in Lake Huron and it still worked. The thing is indestructible.
