Carfax doesn't do a whole lot for Canadian car history. US vehicle records are much better kept. I have a whole printout on my Eclipse showing it's mileage recorded at year for emissions.
Carfax can't tell you if a car was ever in an accident, but it will tell you anytime it was involved in police reports. People don't always call the police when they crash their own car.

yeah carfax aint great for canadian cars .........
my one buddy carfaxed his car for the heck of it when I was doing my truck .........apperantly it was a total write off in texas once along with numerous other claims, thing is he's owned it since new and it's never been to the states .....
my trucked showed nothing on carfax and the previous owner told me he'd had an accident and the box was repainted through autopac

I don't know, but I JUST carfaxed my VIN on my 98 pickup, and got 7 "records".. I have been the only owner and I have had one accident that may or may not have ever been reported as such. That may be one of the reports, I can't imagine what the other 6 might be... maybe recalls or something? Kind of odd..
