Protect our culture? lol They let more things go on tv then they do in the states lol But yes there are difference between.

Wasn't aware that there wasn't a profit though if it was seen more legal and completely available to everyone and better promoted don't see why they wouldn't start to come out of their debt.

People still have Direct TV n such, Most people these days have things they're not supposed to, rules were meant to be broken.

CRTC could (but they wont) regulate it so that its not all candian artists. Not all canadian artists are crap just depends on the genre.

I think the CRTC basically wants to make sure that they have X amount of CDN content (ie. channels or ads etc.)

^What he said.

And what's wrong with Canadian programming? It's not like TV where there's just CBC. If I turned to a rock/alt music station I'd even be happy if ALL the music was derived from Canadian artists. I wonder how many of you know who are Canadian these days or not.

FYI, 30% Canadian content is the stipulation. So all they have to do is out of every 20 songs, play one from Tea Party, one from Our Lady Peace, one from Treble Charger, Matthew Good, Tragically Hip, and one from Edwin.

As long as they don't play BNL and Spirit of the West, all is good.
