It's easiest if you know someone in the US that has an account and they can just add your radio to thier account, pay them once a year. You can also use your canadian credit card with someone else's address. They just bill you automatically.

CRTC has not deemed it illegal. They won't allow XM and Sirius to offer their services to Canadians due to the lack of regulated Canadian content. BUT, it's kinda tough to stop that big shiny satelite from pointing up here.

cujo it's the same thing as the DISH network satellite service, it's a "gray market" thing.. it's not allowed but people still do it.. what can they do? If they really wanted to, they could crack down but with all the crap on people's cars nowadays, it'd be hard to pick out an XM antenna, I know mine looks just like a GPS antenna... oops.. did I say that? haha

I think if ur the one paying for it they can screw off with their 'legal - illegal' crap. You paid for it its your business. You do what you want. Stupid to say its illegal cause we're slow on getting it up here.

They don't care if you yuse a Canadian Credit card. They still get paid. Your not stealing from them. I don't mind giving them money, they put satellites in the sky so I could have digital radio in my car, home, etc. Even with 2,000,000 plus subs they still are in debt, and wqill be for quite a while. Approx 1 in 10 XM subs are Canadian, unoffically.
Cops could care less. They'd think it was sweet as they spend so much time in a car. I know a cop and he uses a CD burner to copy stuff, and he hasn't been to jail yet.
