Buying a bike
I plan on buying a bike this summer. My budget is roughly $4000 for bike and gear. I also plan on getting lessons as I know too many people that have died on bikes.
I'm leaning towards a Ninja 250R because I love the look, and can get one almost new for 4. Any thoughts, reviews from anyone that has one?
Also any recommended motorcycle schools in the lower mainland?
Thanks!

I owned one a couple years ago. was a 2006 model. my wife wanted a sports bike but wasn't comfortable jumping right in to a 600. i am 250 lbs and it pushed me around pretty well. the ride comfort was exceptional as well as the mileage. If i remember I got about 450km to a tank on hwy. Off the line it could beat most any car on the road. If you are doing lots of hwy you need to plan your passes though.

Sounds good, comfort was one thing I was concerned about... Ya the mileage is supposed to be really good on them, but honestly I'm not too concerned about that, any bike will be great. The power was something I was really hoping for, I wanna be able to beat most anything off the line.

A 250 is not very powerful and if you do any 400 series hwys you are running a higher risk of injury. I'd imagine it would be pretty well maxed out at 110km, maybe 120 so there would be NO power to accelerate out of a situation if one arose. In and around town would be fun though.
